At Hyflux, we believe in the sustainability of the communities in which we operate.
We have chosen to focus our attention on three main areas: education, entrepreneurship and the environment. As a technology company, we appreciate the value that education creates, and we think it should be available to all. Growing from a start-up to where we are today, we seek to encourage all those that would follow in our footsteps. Operating in the environmental sector, we are aware of the impact environmental damage causes, and appreciate the importance of protecting the environment.
Through ongoing corporate volunteerism, financial support and partnerships with governmental, educational and non-profit organisations, we help address many challenging issues in the communities in which we operate.
Education
As a technology company, we have reaped the benefits of the knowledge economy. That is why we appreciate the value of a good education. To help share our knowledge with the next generation, we have worked with Singapore polytechnics and educational institutions to provide awards and scholarships for outstanding students in the fields of Business, Chemistry and Environmental Studies. Some scholarships also include attachment and internship opportunities at the Hyflux headquarters.

We actively support several global student entrepreneurship programmes in which our senior management take time out from their busy schedules to share the insights we have gained on our road to entrepreneurial success with students from all over the world.

Environment
As an environmental company, we are keenly aware of the importance of environmental protection.

Being in the environment industry, we are keenly aware of the impact that human activities can have on the environment. It is our belief that environmental sustainability can only be achieved through careful renewable resource management. We are working with several environmental organisations such as the National Environmental Agency (NEA) and the Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA) to share our insights with the public and help raise awareness on climate change and renewable resource management.

Community Welfare
Aside from the three core areas where we feel we can contribute most effectively, we also hope to help the most vulnerable people in our society. There are many elderly people and children who are in need of special care services in our society. We support fund raising events that benefit senior citizens’ homes, childcare and in-patient care organisations. We have laid strong foundations for these Corporate Social Responsibility programmes and are well positioned for deeper and even more meaningful engagement to improve the well-being of our community.
